Brindabella Airlines

Newly merged Brindabella and Aeropelican Airlines have announced a review of their North West operations.

Recent market feedback has indicated the strong demand for day return travel to and from South East Queensland from the North West region. As a result the two airlines are introducing afternoon services on Mondays and Thursdays for their direct Brisbane – Narrabri flights.

Robyn Faber, Narrabri's Mayor commented: The Narrabri community welcomes the ability to organize a full working day in Brisbane as well as the potential to increase full working day visits into Narrabri for South East Queensland based business.

In addition, after two and a half years of operation the Brisbane to Moree service will cease at the end of month. Fabrice Binet, Chief Commercial Officer for Brindabella and Aeropelican stated: The decision to stop the Moree service has been forced upon us by the ever increasing cost of regional aviation; we would like to thank the Moree Plains Shire Council for their assistance and those who have used the service over the past two and a half years and we invite them to use our Narrabri to Brisbane service in the future.

Brisbane to Moree passengers will be offered flights from Narrabri for flights booked after the 27th of January or a full refund Fabrice Binet added.

The move coincides with the airline's first anniversary flying Narrabri to Brisbane, which has become one of the airline's fastest growing routes – attracting strong utilisation by Australia's thriving resources sector, agri-business and leisure travellers.

Mr Binet concluded: Our presence in the North West is now strengthened by offering the region day returns to both Sydney and Brisbane with our 50 weekly flights strong schedule to and from Narrabri. Brindabella and Aeropelican are looking forward to embracing the region's growth in the years to come.

Brisbane to Moree's last day of operation is 27th January and the airline is endeavouring to contact all passengers booked after that date.

Narrabri to Brisbane afternoon flights will start on Monday 27th February (Mondays and Thursdays only).

The afternoon schedule will be: Brisbane to Narrabri 16.30 – 18.50 Narrabri to Brisbane 19.15 – 19.35
