Brindabella Airlines is thrilled to notch up its first year flying its popular Tamworth to Brisbane service.

We are pleased to have a part in increasing travel to and from the New England region and see our service so well received by the local community and interstate travellers, said CEO Jeff Boyd.

The ongoing success of our service would not be possible without the backing of the Tamworth Regional Council, the wider community, and visitors to the region, said Mr Boyd.

The support and response to our service has been overwhelming and is something Brindabella is extremely grateful for.

Brindabella's anniversary follows the recent announcement that Tamworth Regional Airport hit record passengers numbers in March this year, almost nudging the 13,000 mark.

We are very happy to be part of such a great result and hope to continue playing a vital role in boosting visitation to the region while making Brisbane more accessible to the local community, Mr Boyd said.

Brindabella also plans to work more closely with local tourism operators to develop special promotions and packages to the region.

Tamworth has some truly great events and tourism experiences on offer so rather than just run flights to and from the region, we are looking to offer more holistic experiences to our interstate travellers, said Mr Boyd.

With flights increasing from two flights per day Monday to Friday, to now including weekend services aboard the airline's larger J41 aircraft, the service seems set to go from strength to strength.
