Brindabella Airlines has announced the introduction of its larger J41 aircraft on weekend services between Tamworth and Brisbane.

The regional airline commenced its Brisbane - New England service in early May 2009 with two direct services per day Monday to Friday. These services proved very popular and weekend services were added in August last year.

Brindabella Airlines CEO, Jeff Boyd said, we have had a great response from the Tamworth - New England area and our loads have been consistently high. We have carried more than 8,500 passengers in the past 8 months and expect approximately 14,000 passengers in our first year.

We are therefore very pleased to expand our services to include weekend flights in our larger J41 aircraft - which has a 30 passenger capacity.

These services will also link directly with our services from Brisbane to Coffs Harbour and Port Macquarie, making connections easier for Tamworth passengers continuing down the coast Mr Boyd said.

With a flight time of just 70 minutes, Brindabella Airlines' Tamworth - Brisbane service is a popular travel option for many locals and increases options for passengers connecting to overseas flights.

The expanded service will commence on Saturday 30 January 2010 with revised departure times. Saturday morning flights will depart Brisbane at 8.00am (Queensland time) and arrive in Tamworth at 10.15am. The return service will depart Tamworth at 10.40am and arrive in Brisbane 11.10am (Queensland time). The Sunday service will depart Brisbane at 14.25pm (Queensland time) and arrive in Tamworth at 16.40pm. The return service will depart Tamworth at 17.05pm and arrive in Brisbane at 1735 (Queensland time).
